Journalist awarded for valuable contribution

Rajouri, Feb 27: On the eve of Eid-Milad –Un-Nabi, Alhuda Educational Trust a Non Governmental Organisation honoured a senior journalist Shafiq Mir for his contribution in highlighting the local issues of Rajouri and Poonch in state and national media .Journalist was honoured with an appreciation certificate and set of books . While speaking on the occasion, Chairman Alhuda Educational Trust Rajouri, Ameer Mohammad Shamsi said that their organisation has tradition of honouring those on yearly basis who contribute something exemplary in their respective fields. He said, this award is always given once in a year and the people are selected for the same after gathering the general public opinion about the person who is honoured. “This year we decided to honour a person from the field of journalism. After gathering the public comments and long deliberations in the governing body of the organisation we found Shafiq Mir a person of dedication and courage who highlighted many public interest issues during his past ten years working with various national and local dailies of the state”, said Shamsi . “Particularly we were impressed with his human right reporting he did in the past one decade with out any fare and favour”, he added.
Shafiq Mir thanked the management for extending such an appreciative certificate to him on the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad . Mir, said this appreciation has encouraged him and he will continue his path of un fare and un biased journalism in future too. The honorary certificate was presented to the journalist by retd DC Talib Hussain Malik in presence of huge gathering
