| Farmers-Scientists meet held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 27
Under its Village Visit Programme (VVP), Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Jammu (SKUAST-J) conducted a visit of team of scientists at Sool village of Udhampur district. On the occasion, farmers-scientists meet was also held wherein the team members interacted with a number of villagers involved in farming. In the meeting, Dr Manish Sharma, Team Coordinator, apprised the farmers about the purpose and importance of VVP which is meant for the benefit of farming community. In the meeting, farmers raised the issues of pest and disease related problems in paddy and wheat, which are the main crops of the area besides vegetables, fruit crops and livestock health problems. The Scientists also visited farmers’ field to have on the spot idea and solution thereof regarding the problems faced by them.
