Jammu, Feb 27: Kashmiri Pandits appreciated the concern shown by Gadkare for the displaced people of the state and particularly the Kashmiri Pandits.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir while talking to reporters stated. He said that Gadkare’s identification with the issues of concern of the Pandit community is noteworthy. At a time when the Kashmiri Pandit leadership disapproved the Indo-Pak talks, Surrender policy of the government and Justice Sagir Report on Centre-State relations, the BJP has come out openly on these issues and strengthened the cause of the nationalist forces in the Jammu and Kashmir.

Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo had, earlier, met Nitin Gadkare at Nagpur during ‘Kashmiri Sankalp Yatra’ in December 2007 and apprised him about the situation of Kashmir and the Kashmiri Pandit community.
Earlier the Joint forum of Kashmiri Pandit organisations under the leadership of A.N.Vaishnavi met Nitin Gadkare, National President, BJP on Friday at Jammu. Raina, Senior Vice President, ASKPC, Smt. Vimla Chrungoo and Sudhir Dhar.

Due to cancellation of helicopter services from Sanji Chat at Vaishnao Devi ne on account of bad weather, the National President of BJP could not attend the programme. The leadership of the Forum was also invited to attend the public programme of Gadkare on 25th February at Parade. Vaishnavi expressed his thanks to Gadkare for his maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir state and also for his favourable remarks in favour of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
