| MIPH stapled pile surgery workshop held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 27: A Workshop cum training programme was held in Government Hospital, Sarwal Jammu on 27th Feb on Minimal Invasive Procedure for Haemorrhoids (MIPH). The workshop was inaugurated by Director Health Services, Dr Jasbir Singh in presence of Dr Madhu Khullar, Medical Suprintendent. Dr Jasbir Singh is the driving force behind several academic programmes in the Health Sector. Dr Sehgal from New Delhi conducted this workshop. All the eminent surgeons from Jammu Province Health Services participated. The aim of this workshop is to propagate the procedure of MIPH for piles which causes minimal pain, minimal blood loss, shorter hospital stay, faster return to normal activity & significantly less post surgery discomfort. With this continuing surgical education programme this procedure is going to be available at far-flung areas of the state. This procedure is done with a disposable single use circular stapler which cost around Rs 18000/- and was supplied free of cost from the Health Department. This workshop was organized by Senior Surgeon Dr Suhash Abrol and Dr Shyam K Gupta.
