Two held for selling local cement in Ambuja bags

JAMMU, Feb 27:
Two persons were arrested Friday evening from Batal Baliyan in Udhampur for allegedly selling locally made cement in Ambuja bags.
Cops of Udhampur police station raided a shop at Batal Baliyan yesterday evening and seized filled and empty bags of Ambuja and J K Cements, a local cement manufacturing unit.Police sources said a total of 190 filled and 200 empty bags were seized from the shop.
Sources said during investigation, police found that the accused had been selling cement of J K Cements in Ambuja bags. Two persons, who owned the shop and who were present there at the time of police raid, were arrested by the cops, the sources added.
The accused were identified as Raman Kumar of Muthi, Jammu, and Sanjay Kumar of Pariyot, Doda.
The duo took the shop on rent about three to four months back and since then they had sold several bags of "fake" Ambuja bags to people.
They were running the racket for the past quite sometime. A case under section 420 of RPC and 3/7 of Essential Commodities Act was registered against them at the Udhampur police
station.
