| Two kg explosive recovered from Manda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 27: At least two kilograms of explosive powder was recovered by police from bushes at Manda near here Friday evening. The spot is about 100 ft from the Manda police checking point and nearly 150 ft from the giant gates of the Amar Singh Palace. Packed in a polythene bag, the explosive also contained shrapnels, police sources said. The bag was recovered by army troops during routine checking in the area. When contacted, a senior police officer, however, said it was an ordinary low-intensity explosive powder used in locally made detonators for fishing or other blasting purposes. It was, however, sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for its examination, the officer added. He said three suspects were questioned, but they could not provide any clue to the identity of those who had hidden the explosive in the bushes. A case stands registered at Pucca Danga police station in this regard.
