| Killed in Kabul, Jammu engineer's body to reach here today | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 27: Killed in a blast in Kabul on Friday, the body of 52-year-old electrical engineer Bhola Ram of Jammu would be flown to his hometown Sunday. He was among the 17 people, including nine Indians, who were killed in the blast. He was deputy general manager with the government-owned Power Grid Corporation of India. He was on an official assignment to Kabul.“His body would be brought to Jammu Sunday morning and consigned to flames at the Shastrii Nagar cremation ground at 1 pm,” a company official said. He said Bhola was posted in Kabul in connection with the Afghanistan Re-construction Project for the laying of 220 KV S/C Phul Kumari- Kabul Transmission Line and construction of 220 KV sub-station at Kabul. He was killed Friday in a blast by Taliban in Kabul. He is survived by his wife Sarla Gupta, daughter Sonia Gupta and son Viren S Ram. He had served in the state at Kishanpur sub-station, Waqoora sub-station and Kathua transmission line office. He was an expert in the construction, operation and maintenance of transmission lines.
