| PDP has double standards: Sagar | | | Early Times report Srinagar, Feb 28: Taking a dig at peoples democratic party (PDP) president, Mahbooba Mufti, the Law and Parliamentary affairs minister, Ali Muhammad Sagar advised her to come out openly against India like Syed Ali Geelani. Sagar was addressing a public gathering at Behrampora, Rafiabad in Baramulla district today. "If PDP is interested in self rule or freedom, it must come out openly with the demand like Syed Ali Geelani. The assembly is not the proper forum to agitate such demands", he said. He said that the PDP party got frustrated after the people threw it out of power. "The party has been casting aspersions on the National Conference leadership. They deliver fiery speeches in the assembly and then walk out without caring for the answers. ", he added. In an apparent reference to Mahbooba Mufti, Sagar said: "They meet the army commanders and also veil over the death of militants. This tells a lot about their double standards" Sagar said the government had plans to give relief to the sufferers of Chinkipora where seventeen houses were destroyed in an army operation last week. "Five persons involved in the murder of an infant at Baramulla have been arrested and sent to jail", he said.
