| Niaz demands more SRTC buses for Doda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 28: Expre-ssing serious concern over the increase in number of road acidents due to overloading in Doda, Former power minister and MLA, Mohammad Sharief Niaz has urged the government to sanction more SRTC buses for the district.
He said when more SRTC buses plied on the Doda roads, the menace of overloading would automatically be taken care of.Niaz said almost all the road mishaps had occured in Doda and Bhaderwah areas in the recent past due to overloading in buses and minibuses.
He said the government should take immediate steps in this regard to save the precious human lives.
The former minister regretted that despite an announcement by the government that more SRTC buses would ply on local Doda routes, nothing had been done in this regard so far. Only few SRTC buses were there in Doda at present, he said.Niaz said overloading in buses and minibuses was due to the shortage of passenger vehicles in the district.
