| "Union budget is anti-poor" | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 28: Various organisations and individuals have described as "anti-poor" the union budget presented by finance minister in the parliament Friday. BSP strongly assailed the budget, saying the increase in fuel prices would also have its impact on other essential commodities. The party said the budget had not given any relief to the common man as with the increase in fuel prices, the fair of passenger vehicles would also get increased. The J&K Coordination Committee of Trade Unions opined that the budgetary proposals had badly hit the working class.Strongly criticising the budget, the committee members said it had further aggravated the problems of workers.Manmeet Singh, an educationist, too assailed the budgetary proposals, saying it was anti-common man. Subash Chander, a shopkeeper, also expressed his unhappiness over the budgetary proposals. He said the central government ought to devise certain schemes for the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society.
