| Teachers assail govt for non-fulfilment of demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 28: The United School Teachers Association has assailed the government for its alleged "non-serious" attitude towards the fulfilment of their long-pending demands. In a meeting held at Samba Saturday, the association members said if their demands were not met at the earliest, they would be forced to adopt the agitational path. Their demands included release of sixth pay commission arrears, regularisation of contractual teachers, removal of pay anomalies and timely release of their salaries. The association members also called upon the government to include five years service of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers in their service books for promotion benefits. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of association's district president Raj Kumar and district counsellor Shanti Saroop Sharma. Among others, the meeting was attended by Praveen Kumar, Sham Lal, Asha Ram, Balwant Singh, Ashok Kumar, Jagdish Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Madan Singh and Rajeev Kumar.
