| Civil Defence organizes disaster management awareness programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT

To educate the general Public about the management of disasters, the Civil Defence Organization, Udhampur organized awareness camps at village Panthal and Thirthi- Kakrayal near Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
In the programme, the participants were made aware about the role of Civil Defence and suggested various ways and means to save the life and property in case of any disaster like situation, live demonstration were also given to the participants about the safety measures to be adopted during any disaster like situation.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Controller Udhampur Bodh Raj gave a resume of various activities being carried out by the Civil Defence Organization in Udhampur. He apprised that the organization would organize such more awareness programmes on vital issues like, First Aid, Rescue Operation, Fire Fighting, ill effects of Smoking and Alcohol, Biological Chemical and Nuclear Warfare, Air Raids, Earth Quakes and AIDS under its 12- point programme during the year 2010.
He further apprised that Civil Defence is also holding its regular awareness programmes in rural areas to educate the rural masses about the different types of disasters and their effective management.
