| IB echoes with laughters, not bullets | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 28: Taking an off from bullets, the International Border (IB) today echoed with laughters and songs as BSF jawans celebrated the twin festivals of Holi and Eid. At the Octroi border outpost in Suchetgarh, R S Pura, laughter, songs and cheering reverberated the IB as BSF personnel rent the air with "Holi Hai" and "Eid Hai" greetings. Apart from Eid, the Festival of Colours brought cheer on the faces of border troops. The twin festivals brought a much-needed breather from security duties for the BSF personnel. "I want to tell you that we are celebrating both the festivals jointly and on behalf of my colleagues, I want to convey Eid and Holi greetings to the people of my nation," a BSF jawan said. The BSF personnel also danced to the tunes of Holi songs for an escape from the dreary and tense daily regimen. It may be mentioned that infiltration bids and cease-fire violations have increased along International Border and LOC, thereby resulting in round the clock duty and extra vigil for the BSF Personals posted in Jammu and Kashmir resulting in tension and anxiety. The Holi and Eid festivals brought them the much needed relief, some jawans remarked.
