| 300 contractual appointments soon to fill Patwari's vacancies: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 1: The Government has decided to make three hundred contractual appointments to fill various vacancies of Patwaris across the State. This was stated by Minister for Revenue, Raman Bhalla, in reply to supplimentaries on the question by Sajjad Kitchloo during Question Hour, here today. The Minister said that considering the urgency for meeting man power requirements, the Government has decided to press in the appointment process on fast track and avail the services of these trained persons till the regular recruitment was made. He also said that involvement of private sector in training the revenue record handling capable manpower would also be explored. Sharing the concern of the Members about vacancies of revenue officials, particularly in rural areas, the Minister said that the recruiting agencies would be asked to expedite and complete the process of recruitment referred to them at the earliest. Replying to the main question, the Minister gave details about the steps taken for completing settlement operations in the State. He also furnished the details about the sanctioned posts of Patwaris, Girdawars and Niab- Tehsildars in District Kishtwar. Mir Saifullah, Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Radhey Sham Sharma and Harshdev Singh asked supplimentaries on the main question. Replying to another question by Mir Zahoor, The Minister said that the Government has constituted a Committee to draw an action plan for utilization of amount received on account of compensation for the land acquired by CRPF at village Lathipora. He said the money received would be spent for developing basic infrastructure in the village.
