| Science streams in Shopian, Ganderbal colleges from next session: Manohar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 1: Minister of State for Higher Education, Dr. Manohar Lal has said that the decision to start Science stream in Govt. Degree College, Shopian from the current session has already been taken up adding that formal orders in this regard are being issued soon. This was stated by the Minister while replying to a question of M Y Taing in Legislative Council today. He said so far the students belonging to Shopian area are pursuing their studies in Science Streams through Degree College, Pulwama. Replying to another question by Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat, the Minister said that a proposal with regard to the commencement of science subjects in Degree College, Ganderbal is held up for want of sufficient accommodation. He said arrangements for providing alternative sites to Physical Education College, Ganderbal are under consideration, adding that the Science stream would be introduced after the exercise is completed. "As and when the old building of the College of Physical Education is handed over to the Govt. Degree College, Ganderbal, the classes in commerce stream will start", he added.
