EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 1: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone, today directed the Government to provide free medicare facilities to a child, who is undergoing treatment in SKIMS after getting injured allegedly by a teargas shell. Responding to the issue, raised by Leader of Opposition, Mehbooba Mufti, during Zero Hour in Legislative Assembly today, the Speaker directed the Minister for Medical Education to process the case of the victim for sanctioning financial assistance under Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar today informed the House that in Government has already provided necessary relief to the people whose property was damaged in a security related incident at Sopore recently. The Minister was replying to an issue raised by Engineer Abdul Rashid, in the House. Responding to another issue, raised by Dr. Mustafa Kamal, regarding group clashes in Kangamdara, Hyderpora in Pattan Constituency, Sagar said that immediately after the incident surfaced, the Chief Minister rushed a team of Ministers and officers to review the situation. They arranged meeting between the two sections to defuse the situation. Now, the curfew has been lifted and the situation is under control. He assured that law and order would be ensured by the Government. While replying to a point, raised by Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, regarding death of a youth due to dog bite in Shangus areas, allegedly due to adequate medicare, the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the Government would enquire into the matter and assured appropriate action against the defaulter, if any. In repose to a point raised by Syed Bashir Ahmad, regarding whereabouts of a youth of Rajpora, who was lifted by the Police sometimes back, Sagar instructed the Home Department to look into the matter and submit the facts. In response to another point, raised by Nazir Ahmad Gurzi, regarding posting of doctors in Gurez, the Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib, said that the Government has created 2500 posts of doctors recently and all the vacant posts will be filled up in Gureaz shortly. Abdul Gaffar Sofi demanded enquiry against police action for disturbing the religious functions at Kulgam and Qazigund during Id-ul-Milad-ul-Nabi. Jugal Kishore demanded bifurcation of SSRB and addressing the issue of college students who are on strike. M Y Tarigami appealed all the Members for making collective efforts to promote communal harmony in the State. Aijaz Jan demanded compensation for the family of a lineman who died due to electric shock while on duty in his Constituency. He also demanded employment for next of his kin under SRO-43.
