| 'Enhance reservation percentage for OBCs' | | | EArly Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 1: State unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has demanded reservation of OBCs in proportion to their population in the state as the Party feels that percentage of reservation is much less than their percentage in population of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a press conference, Vice President, BSP- R.L. Chargotra said that the other backward castes OBCs in Jammu and Kashmir have been deprived of their legitimate right since 1950 as their population has been wrongly mentioned as 2%. He said that percentage of OBCs should be given as per the census of 1931 which was 42 percent. He said that government should make every effort to enhance the reservation percentage of OBCs living across the state so that its maximum members are benefited.
