| Research awards to MIER College Faculty | | | early times report
Jammu, Mar 1: MIER College of Education organised the second edition of its Annual Research Awards at its B.C Road campus. Dr. Lokesh Kaul, Prof. Emeritus and Former Dean Faculty of Education, H.P. University was the chief guest on this occasion. Chairman MIER, Dr. Arun Gupta was the guest of honour and Director, MIER, Dr. Renu Gupta presided over the function which was attended by all the faculty member of the college of education. This year, 11 faculty members were felicitated with the "Build for the Future Awards" under the Research Promotion Scheme (RPS) of the institute which serves to recognize and reward outstanding contribution of faculty members in achieving the research related objectives of the institute. During last year, faculty members of the institute have produced many research papers, some of which have been presented at prestigious National/International conferences and published in reputed journals.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kaul greatly appreciated the faculty members for having put MIER on the International stage by having their papers published in various national and international journals.
Dr. Arun Gupta in his address congratulated the faculty members for achieving success in the area of educational research and expressed that such awards would result in the development of interest and aptitude towards research in the young faculty of the institute.
Research awards were given for the work done in areas like ICT for Quality Enhancement in Teacher Education, Learning Environments, Enhancing Quality of Action Research, Pre-school Education, Special Education, Role of Libraries in Educational Research, Innovations in Instruction and Design etc. The faculty members who received the awards were Dr. D.R Kapoor, Dr. Adit Gupta, Dr. Ira Bhan, Dr. Jasmeet Kaur, Annie Koul, Moolraj Sharma, Shashi Kaul, Angela Gadroo, Poonam Soni, Rajendra Parveen, Rohinika and Suneel Bhat.
