| DGP hands over raffle draw prizes to winners | | | early times report Jammu, Mar 1: The Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda handed over raffle draw prizes to the winners at an impressive function held at Police Headquarters here this evening. The raffle draw was held at Police Sports Stadium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu during day-long Police Public Mela on February 21, 2010. On this occasion, Khoda congratulated the prize winners and extended good wishes to them for their happy and prosperous life. He also gave them valuable suggestions to make best use of the prizes. The Director General of Police handed over two Wagon-R to the first prize winners, Abdul Khaliq Sofi son of Ghulam Ahmed Sofi resident of Shadimarg, Pulwama; and Ajay Kumar Son of Balbir Chand resident of Nandpur Tehsil Bishnah, who have won the prizes against raffle draw ticket numbers B-38156 and D-09398, respectively. Khoda also handed over two Alto cars to Javed Iqbal Bhat son of Noor Din Bhat resident of Kathsu Anantnag, a Head Constable in IRP 4th Battalion; and Ajaz Ahmed son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Malangpora, Pulwama, SPO in District Pulwama, who won the prize against the ticket No. C-48916 and D-62169, respectively. Similarly, the 3rd prize Motor Cycle was won by Kurshid Ahmed Khan son of Amir-u-ullah Khan resident of Azadpora Boniyar Baramulla, a Follower in JKAP 9th Battalion, against riffle draw ticket No. C-36912, which was handed over to him by Inspector General of Police (Modernization), PHQ, Z. H. Chisti. The 6th prize LCD TV won by Mohammad Hanief son of Kalu Khan resident of Maitra Ramban, a Constable in District Udhampur, against ticket No. D-56436, was also handed over to the winner by Chisti. The Inspector General of Police, (Headquarters), Dr. B. Srinivas handed over the eighth prize AC 0.7 Ton to Ms. Shalni Devi daughter of Amar Nath resident of Nikowal, who has won the prize against ticket No. D-01477. The prize winners hailed the transparent manner in which the raffle draw was held and expressed the hope that they will participate in such Melas in future also. They said that the Police Public Melas have become more attractive for the people and they wait for these Melas anxiously.
