| Apt replies remain evasive in LC | | | CHAMAN KAUL Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 1: Even as members follow the procedure of submitting questions a month or so before the commencement of the session, they do not get detailed and satisfying replies. While replying to a member's query in the legislative council today, tourism minister Nawang Rigzin Zora said he could not answer the question as he did not have the details. He was replying on behalf of PHE minister Taj Mohiudin. "I have no details avalible with me so I can't answer the question," he said. Nizamudin Khatana raised the issue of scarcity of drinking water supply to Sunjwah, Zubairabad and Narwal. He suggested that instead of digging deep tubewells, government should ensure the lifting of water from Tawi river and supply it to the people after filtering it in plants. In his reply, the minister concerned, who initially said 10 tubewells were being dug by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA), later rectified his "mistake" when he said only two tubewells would be dug by ERA and PHE, and 10 tubewells would be dug under National Rural Drinking Water Programme.
