| Infiltration bid foiled on LoC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 01: Amid ceasefire violation by Pakistan, an infiltration bid was foiled on the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sub-sector of Mendhar in Poonch this evening. Official sources said Pak army opened fire from their Daku and Battal outposts on Kranti, Kirpan, Deep and Ghora forward Indian positions at about 6.30 pm to fascilitate infiltration. They fired RPG rockets and used machine guns, the sources added.India retaliated and put troops all along the LoC on high alert to foil any infiltration bid by the Pak-based militants. When contacted, BGS Media, Brigadier Gurdip Singh confirmed the incident of firing by Pak, saying "it was a clear case of ceasefire violation". The BGS said there was no loss of life and property on the Indian side. Loss, if any, on the Pak side was not known, he added.The intermittent firing between the two sides continued till 8.50 pm. On February 13 also, Pakistan had resorted to unprovoked firing, targetting Kranti and Kirpan forward posts.
