3/3/2010 11:06:59 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 3: Vikas Sharma, president, National Secular Forum (NSF) expressed a serious over the pathetic condition of parking facility available inside the University Campus.
Addressing a press conference here today, Vikas Sharma said that apart from this the students coming to the campus face lot of problems due to non-availability of information by the information cell. He said that students coming to the campus have to first search for the information cell and to their utter surprise when they reach there they find the information cell closed as the timing of the cell is from 10: am to 1:30 p:m and whatsoever information is provided by the information cell is baseless.
The students and scholars suffer a lot by this timing as no forms / broachers are available after this timing.
He demanded that the timing of the information cell, the forms counter and the fees counter should be at par with the timing of the other university departments i.e. 09:30 to 5:00 p:m.
He demanded that information cell should be located at the entrance where it is easily accessible and updated information provided to the students.
Vikas Sharma has condemned the yesterday episode of ransacking the administrative block of the Jammu University by the students who were demanding curtailment in syllabus of the 3rd year exams. He said the reason behind the episode is that the University authorities have not taken the demands of the students seriously. He also said if they would have taken the demands of the students seriously such incident would have not taken place. He said that these issues should be taken immediately by the authorities; otherwise, NSF will launch an agitation in this regard.
Among those who were attended the Press Conference included, VikramSingh,Inderpal Singh, Sunny Babber, Sanjay Sharma,Rohit Sharma and Kamaldeep Singh.
