Refresher course in management begins

Jammu, Mar 3: A 3-week UGC sponsored Refresher course in Management and allied disciplines was inaugurated at The Business School, University of Jammu today. The course is organized in collaboration with Academic Staff College, University of Jammu
Prof. N D Mathur, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur was the key notespeaker at the inaugural function. Prof. Ashok Aima, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest. Prof. I V Malhan, Director, Academic Staff College; Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Director, The Business School and Coordinator of the Refresher Course; Dr. Alka Sharma, Associate Professor, TBS and Co-Coordinator; Dr. Ranjit Kalra, Assistant Director, Academic Staff College was also present during the Inaugural function.
Prof. N D Mathur in his key note address emphasized about the changing educational paradigm and the challenges being posed by the new world economy.
Earlier Prof. I V Malhan, Director, Academic Staff College, University of Jammu in his welcome address highlighted the changing economic structure of Indian economy and the challenges faced by the corporate sector of the world.
Prof. Ashok Aima, Dean Faculty of Management Studies, University of Jammu in his address emphasized the need for creating a culture of learning among the teaching fraternity and designing programmes that are need based for ensuring effectiveness.
Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Director, The Business School and the Coordinator for the programme said that eminent academicians and corporate professionals from across the institutions and universities in the country shall be the key resource persons for the course. This shall ensure a proper blend of practice and theory in the subject area.
Dr. Alka Sharma, Co-Cordinator conducted the proceedings of the function. Dr. Ranjit Kalra presented the formal vote of thanks.
