Jammu, Mar 3: Third Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. RS Jain today awarded two years imprisonment and fine Rs 2000/- u/s 307 RPC to accused Devinder Singh ex-CRPF cop.
According to the prosecution case that on June 8, 2001 at 7:00 AM accused was issued one SLR rifle with magazine by armory and when Shiv Dutt was about to enter the armory, the accused Devinder Singh pointed the SLR towards Shiv Dutt and said that he would kill him as Shiv Dutt has not given him leave to attend to his wife in the hospital and thereafter the accused fired at Shiv Dutt which missed. The accused was overpowered and referred to the police. Domana Police after investigation the case presented challan in the Court of law.
Today Court after hearing Additional Public Prosecutor GS Charak appearing for the state and counsel for the accused, observed that in view of the facts and circumstances of the case accused Devinder Singh is sentenced to undergo imprisonment for a period of two years and a fine of Rs 2000/- u/s 307 RPC. The accused who was present in the court sent to jail for serving the sentence. ---JNF
