| Fast track development of far-flung areas a priority concern: Omar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 3: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today said that government is focusing added attention on the faster and balanced development of far-flung and remote areas. "While measures have been initiated to upgrade the five important sectors of road communication, health, education, water and power supply, steps are also a foot to ensure integrated development of horticulture, agriculture and allied sectors in the rural areas", he added. Omar said that under a comprehensive rural development strategy put into place by the government, the necessary thrust has been given on providing basic amenities to the people. "On completion of scores of schemes under implementation across the state, there will be tremendous impa-ct on development scenario in the state", he said and reiterated his government's co-mmitment for equitable and holistic development of the all the areas of the state. The Chief Minister was talking to a deputation from Banihal led by MLA, Viqar Rasool who called on him here and brought to his notice various demands pertaining to the development of Banihal constituency.
