| Cop steals weapon from DPL, arrested | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 3: In a bizarre incident a cop stole weapons from District Police Line,Gushan Ground and fled from the spot. He was arrested by Gandhi Nagar police from Rehari area. The retired cop identified as Farooq Ahmed fled from 9th battalion with a box containing arms and ammunition of his colleague constable Mohd Hussain. The matter came to lime light only when constable found his box containing weapons which including one Insos rifle and two magazines missing in his barrack. The matter was reported to the senior police officers.A case under section 380 RPC was registered in this connection at Gandhi Nagar police station . During investigation police came to know that Farooq Ahmed stayed in the barrack with him and was missing since morning. As a part of investigation he was arrested from Rehari area. The stolen weapons were also recovered from his possession.
