| Heated exchange of words between PDP, Sagar | | 'Missing' boy controversy | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 3: The State Legislative Assembly today once again witnessed hot exchange of words between opposition PDP members and NC led coalition government , this time over the issue of a ‘missing’ boy . The nagging scenes and bickerings on the two sides continued until amidst clamour and noisy scenes PDP MLAs staged walkout in anger.
Din erupted in the House suddenly when Law Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar read out his statement about a boy named Asif , whose matter was raised by Syed Bashir Ahmad, PDP MLA from Rajpura in Kashmir, as reported to be missing from his house for some days. PDP MLA sharing concern and agony of the family of the boy sought the details from the government following which Speaker directed the latter to come out with a statement. The Law Minister in his detailed reply stated that Asif son of one Adbul Razak was an overground militant having association with Hizbul Mujahidin
The Law minister also said the boy had links with OGWs in Rajourri and some other outfits for whom he worked a courier for carrying arms and ammunition.Statting further he said the said boy had been found responsible for large scale law and order problem, used many innocent people as innocent shield and had made possible the escape of a militant sometime back.He said all these evidences suggested his ample involvement in militancy as a result of which he had been apprehended by the police some days ago.
The reply almost triggered a volcanic expression from the PDP MLA who got up from the seat alleging the government had manipulated the details to concoct boy’s involvement with the militancy.” Yeh Bilkul Galat Hai ….Is Ghar Main Do Afrad militancy ka Shikar Pahley Hi Huye Hain…..Agar Yeh Sahi Hai To Aaj Subah SSP Nay Phone Par Alag Kahani Kyon Di(this is all incorrect and fabricated…the family has already suffered loss of tow members in militancy related violence….the police version is diffrerent)”, Syed Bashir shouted angrily. Tempers ran high when he came in front of the Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone and threatned to resign and even immolate himself over the reply of the government. Contesting the reply strongly, the PDP MLA said Home department had provided wrong information and alleged that minister had misled the House by providing wrong information about the boy.
As Syed Bahsir refused to relent while contesting the reply as false, other members of the party also got up support him. Soon, all PDP members also joined in raising slogans against the government. They converged in front row, in front of the Well strongly sharing concern of the MLA.Even as the Speaker tried to defuse the situation by advising Syed Bashir that he could bring privilege motion against the government if he felt the information was wrong, this did not pacify the PDP. Law Minister Sagar also reacted angrily to the PDP reaction and said “ Yeh Dramabazi Kar Rahain Hai……Chillaney Se Kuch Nahi Hoga…Agar Yeh Vakai Hamdard Hain To Inhey Likhar Dena Chaiyey (they are only enacting a drama…if they are truly sympathizers of the boy, they should give their version in writing…}.Sagar also said PDP had no issues to raise which is why they were now raising hue and cry frequently in the House.
The bickerings continued for some time after which the PDP members staged walkout from the House.
