| BKNKS hold holds protest demonstration | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 4: In support of their demands, Bhartiya Khadiya Nigam Karamchari Sangh (BKNKS), J&K region on the call of its National Executive staged a lunch hour protest demonstration today in front of district office, Gandhi Nagar. The demands which include, immediate approval of wage revision due from January 1, 2007, immediate settlement of de-linked items of wage revision, immediate approval of fringe benefits in respect of Cat I & II employees, Revision of staff norms, approval for compassionate appointment of the dependant of the deceased employees against the existent vacant posts at entry level. Addressing the gathering Rajinder Singh, Regional Chairman and VK Tandon, Regional Secretary warned the authorities of Union Food ministry and Food Corporation of India (FCI) sitting in the helm of affairs not to take the demands of the employees lightly and keep pending the important issues even including wage revision. Other speakers stressed upon authorities to immediately settle all the issues pending otherwise the workforce in FCI shall be compelled to resort to agitation and the responsibilities for the losses due to protests suffered by nation shall not be rest upon the employees.
