| Govt to consider enhancement of relief for militancy victims: Sagar | | Zero Hour in LA | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 4: Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar today informed the House that the Government would examine the suggestion of enhancement in the relief to those whose properties got damaged due to militancy related incidents. Presently, the Government policy to be pay Rs 1 lakh to each affected family, he added. The Minister was reacting to a point raised by Leader of the Opposition, Mehbo-oba Mufti during Zero Hour in the Legislative Assem-bly. Responding to a point raised by Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and Mohammad Sharief Niaz, the Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma said that the Government was according top priority to improve the health services in the entire State and various steps have been taken by the Govern-ment during the past one year. He said that process of recruitment of doctors and para-medical staff has been set in motion and the recruitment agencies have been asked to fill up vacancies. He said that concerned MLAs in their capacities as Chairmen of Rogi Kalyan Samitis can undertake necessary steps for development of health institutions locally. Radhey Sham. Sharma demanded on-the-spot recruitment of police forces in the border areas of Nowshera. Rafi Ahmad Mir sought action against the fake K.oil licence holders in his Constituency. Ashok Kumar demanded compensation to those whose land came under construction of District Complex at Ramban. Abdul Haq demanded upgradation and improvement of roads damaged due to snowfall. Ashwani Kumar Sharma demanded setting up of Fire and Emergency Services Station at Bishnah at the earliest. Krishan Chander demanded establishment of Trauma Hospital at Samroli and Dispensary at Mantalai areas. He also sought improvement in overall health services in the rural areas of Chenani. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi demanded extension of winter vacations till March 15 in Gurez schools because of heavy snowfall. Harshdev Singh demanded timely execution of various works under State and District Plans. M Y Tarigami demanded reforms in the functioning of Public Service Commi-ssion. Ashok Khajuria demanded setting up of Regional Councils for the Jammu and Kashmir regions enabling equitable distribution of funds. Bilma Luthra demanded ration and K. Dr. Mohammad Shafi Wani demanded streamlining of Integrated Child Develop-ment Scheme (ICDS), functioning so that benefits reach the needy. Irfan Shah demanded early completion of PHC building in Batamaloo Constituency. Yashpal Kundal demanded revocation of map No. 125 thus banning cutting of forests. Abdul Majid Wani demanded regularization of 14 schools in his area which were established on adhoc basis. Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat demanded setting up of Model Vilage in R.S.Pura Constituency. Peer Mansoor Hussain and Javed Mustafa Mir demanded streamlining and improvement in power distribution system in the Valley. Per Afaq Ahmad drew the attention of the Government towards slow progress of National Building Constr-uction Corporation (NBCC), works in Zadibal area and demanded speeding up their pace. Abdul Gaffar Sofi demanded improvement of drinking water in vulnerable areas of Home Shalibug. A. R. Veeri demanded setting up of a terminal fruit mandi in South Kashmir. Prof. Chaman Lal, Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Zulfikar Ali and Mohammad Ashraf also raised the issues of important nature of their constituencies.
