| Ex-servicemen rally held at Reasi | | | Sarita Jamwal Early Times Report Udhampur, Nov 7: Brigadier RS Langeh, VSM, Director Sainik Welfare Department, Lt Col Man Singh Jamwal, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Udhampur and Ex-Sub Jagdev Singh Chib, Welfare Orgniser visited Reasi in connection with Ex-servicemen rally organised by Headquarters CIF (U) on 04 Mar 2010. A large number of Ex-servicemen/widows from far flung areas i.e Mahore, Arnas, Katra, Ransoo, Pouni, Bharakh, Bhambla, Laiter, Dadowa and Reasi were present on the occasion. Brigadier Langeh spoke on various concessions and welfare schemes extended by the Central/ State Gover-nment for the welfare of Ex-servicemen/ Widows. He apprised Ex-servicemen and widows the impo-rtance of Joint Notification for family pension and publication of Part II orders. He informed about Prime Minister Scholar-ship schemes for the wards of Ex-servicemen/ Widows, Daughter's marriage grant, Demise grant, ADLR Scheme, Relief to Ex-J&K Militia personnel who have discharged at their own request/on medical grou-nds and to non-pensioners. He also stressed to become members of ECHS under which complete medical cover is provided to the pensioners as well as dependents. Brigadier Langeh distributed cash relief amount to Rupees 40,000/- and a Sewing Machine to needy Ex-servicemen/widows during the rally. Brigadier Langeh thanked GOC, HQ CIF (U) for providing various stalls, financial aids and presence of all senior officers of the civil administration as welfare measure to Ex-servicement/ widows. During the rally, local Army units provided breakfast and lunch to all Ex-servicemen/widows. While speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Lan-geh assured the Ex-servicemen/widows that he will look into their genuine demands and will provide every possible help to them.
