| State Football: Young Star among 4 sail into IV round | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 4: Winning their respective matches, Young Star, International Club, Food and Supplies and Young Maharaja today sailed into the fourth round of ongoing 21st State Football Championship being held at GGM Science College and Mini Stadium, here.
While Young Star and International Clubs witnessed close contests against their opponents and won their respective matches only through tie-breaker, Young Maharaja and Food and Supplies had easy endings.
In the first match of the day, Young Star trounced Jammu United 6-4 in tie-breaker. Earlier, in the stipulated time the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Anil (20th) and Sanjay (31st) were scorers from Jammu United while Bhanu (28th) and Dimple (32nd) scored for Young Star in the stipulated time. Later, in tie-breaker, Young Star emerged winner with Vikas, Vicky, Bhanu and Sanjay successfully converted the penalty kicks into goal while Anil and Vikas scored from Jammu United.
In another closely contested match, International Club trounced DFA Udhampur 4-2. In the given time, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, followed by the tie-breaker which guided International to a fine 4-2 win. Rajinder, Ramesh and Vicky scored from International Club while Tushar were only scorer from Udhampur.
In other two matches played today, Food and Supplies blanked DFA Kupwara 7-0 while Young Maharaja outplayed International Sports Jammu again 7-0.
