| BA Part-II student burnt alive | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 4: A BA Part-II student was charred to death beyond recognition in a devastating fire that broke out in their house at Gatha in Bhaderwah this evening. Neha Kotwal, her father Shashi Kotwal and other family members were in their three-storey house when fire broke out on the top floor at about 7 pm. Though all other family members managed to flee to safety, Neha got trapped in the flames and was burnt alive. She was a student of BA Part-II in Government Degree College, Bhader-wah. Her father sustained minor burns in the incident. Soon after the fire engulfed the house, two fire tenders from a nearby fire station were pressed into service. Police sources said the firemen also made an attempt to save the girl, but they could not. It took them more than two hours to extinguish the fire, they added. Though the cause of fire was yet to be ascertained, it could be electric short-circuit, the sources said. Police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations. |
