| Spare parts dealer jumps from Tawi bridge, serious | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 4: A 25-year-old spare parts dealer, who tried to end his life by jumping from the Tawi bridge here, got his both legs broken and sustained severe injuries on other parts of the body. Quoting eyewitnesses, police sources said three youth, who were on a motorcycle, came from the flyover side and stopped in the middle of the bridge where there was some verbal tiff between them. In a fit of anger, one of them later jumped from the bridge into Tawi river. He, however, fell on the hard river bed as a result of which his legs got fractured. The other two fled the spot immediately. Police from the nearby Jewel area and the Bikram Chowk rushed to the rescue of the injured and evacuated him to the GMC Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical. He was identified as Sunny Gupta, son of Surinder Gupta, of Lajpat Nagar, Talab Tillo. He owned a spare parts shop at Narwal. A case in this connection stands registered at the Nawabad police station. |
