| Take adequate measures for arising prices : Gupta | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 5: J&K National Conference, Provincial President Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta has requested Union Government to take adequate measures for arising the trend of rising prices of essential commodities. He in a statement said that prices of petroleum products in particular should be slashed down and there should be no increase, which in turn destabilize the price structure of all the daily needed commodities and cause additional hardships for the people, in particular for those living below poverty line. He further said that Jammu and Kashmir is a poor state where one third of the population lives below poverty line. Rise in oil prices, in particular, is of great concern for these poor people who cannot afford to bear the brunt. Union government as such should consider the request for price cut in the essentials of daily use including the petroleum products. Shri Gupta also appealed state administration to maintain constant vigil and take strong action against the elements indulging in hoardings and un-warranted price hike.
