Opposing surrender policy, VHP charges govt with demorolising forces
3/5/2010 11:06:32 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 5: Opposing tooth and nail the government proposal to rehabilitate Kashmiri militants, who were in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) state president Rama Kant Dubey today charged the NC-Congress government with demoralising security forces fighting militants.
Talking to media persons here, he criticised the government for its proposal to rehabilitate Kashmiri militants, who had crossed over to PoK to receive training in the handling of arms and ammunition.
Dubey said such a government move was fraught with catastrophic consequences as for as the security and integrity of the country were concerned.
He a question if the parents of youths, who had gone to PoK for arms training, had approached the government or lodged complaints of missing of their children with respective police stations.
The VHP president strongly criticised the state government and Kashmir-based political parties for not even uttering a word in favour of army soldiers who had sacrified their lives in recent operations against the militants.
"The state government is biased in approach. It does not condemn the incident when army soldiers who are fighting for the safety of people and political leaders in the valley, die in operations," he asserted.
Reacting to the arrest of BSF commandant R K Birdi, he said it was nothing but a clandestine attempt of the state government to encourage the anti-national elements to pursue their nefarious agenda of placing the country at the disposal of militants."We condemn the death of 16-year-old boy at Nishat, but our question is what was he doing there when stone-pelting was going on?
All this has been done to placate and appease militants and anti-national elements," Dubey alleged.
He also appealed to President Pratibha Patil to take cognizance of the deteriorating situation in Jammu and Kashmir and direct the Governor to dismiss the state government.
