| AFSPA, KPs exodus two faces of same coin | | | ET Analysis EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 05:
The raking up of the issue of revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act by PDP in the state Legislative Assembly has raised certain basic questions vis-à-vis situation in Kashmir in particular and the state in general. While both the regional parties and politicians from Kashmir valley, seemingly appear to be having consensus on the realistaion that situation has improved to a great extent, the moot question remains has the situation then become conducive for the return of Kashmiri Pandits and in general terms is it ripe time for revocation of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) and reduction of troops, safe guarding the precious lives of common masses of Kashmir, who happen to be the majority of Kashmiri Muslims. On one hand Kashmiri centric mainstream political leaders are hell bent to stress for revocation of the AFSPA and the withdrawal of troops and on the other side they are least bothered about the fate of KPs in their indigenous land. It is now amply clear that these so called leaders are making mockery of law and rule by shouting slogans which lack both logic and rationality as well as which are still unrealistic given the ground situation prevalent in the state in context of militancy . If the situation in Kashmir valley all fine then why KPs are languishing in Jammu and other parts of so called largest democratic country of India. Why are migrant Kashmiri Muslims and Sikhs still away from their homes and hearths? Are they pretending to be sufferers or the government of the day is hell bent to become popular and insulated at the cost agony and pain of non Muslims of state. It is irony that whenever it comes to humiliating the security forces, Indian government and Indian establishments both NC-Cong coalition and principal opposition party PDP forgets political rivalry and unite to humiliate patriotic forces in and out side the power corridors. AFSPA and deployment of dense armed forces was not decision of government of India and particularly of a Hindu oriented forum but it was the need of hour to safeguard the life and property of the people in Kashmir, especially of a majority community comprised of Kashmiri Muslims. As on today, if the representatives of Kashmir feel that situation is conducive for troop’s withdrawal and revocation of AFSPA then why they did not miss their brethren KPs, migrated Muslims and Sikhs? Billion dollar question rather a reality remains that Azadi for Kashmiris was ethnic cleansing and they have achieved it 20 years back, rule on their whims across the state they have got it and eco-political upper hand which they already had on every front. Then why terrorism and blood shed? But as per the situation and precipitation goes ,so called representatives of Kashmiri’s it seems that every body is trading on the blood stains of innocent Kashmiris for their vested interests nothing more than enjoying luxurious life style. Shame!
