SIDDHARTH
ET REPORT
Jammu, Mar 6: Weather today suddenly played an unexpected role reversal, much to the bewilderment of the public that, off late, had already shifted to summer outfits, bidding goodbye to chilling winters.
The sudden return of chill with overcast clouds that just has seen off the winters brought an abrupt dip in the mercury compelling people to recourse to the woolens which they had already packed up since past more than a week now.
The change in the whether brought up cheers among the people especially in children. Young boys and girls draped in colorful fabric deserting their homes to become publicly figured has become a moment to rejoice for all.
The elderly couples too took their time off for a stroll in the dawning twilights that must have extended the much felt warmth generated among them in the sweet chill.
Jammu, of late, had grown bit warmer earlier this season, a system which is being witnessed into the weather cycle of the country since some years.
The sudden chill returning into the air may be a welcome respite, yet it is not being considered a health-friendly change that may tell upon many adversely.
"The fluctuating shift in the weather is not a positive sign. Already the unexpected rise in the mercury had brought in feverish conditions affecting the people, generally the children, as many of doctors' clinics and health centers were seen flooded with people alleging to be down with fever, ' said a mother of three years' old kid rushing towards a Nursing Home at Amphalla.
Though it has been quite evident from the past record of the people falling ill due to the change of weather and other adversaries inviting viral fever, the young lot refuses to admit the scare of it and say, "This is a sweet shift in the monotony that has pumped up our spirits for a mischievous Saturday".
The health conscious too seem to have given this change a day off for a celebration.
"Though we are very mindful of our health system, we too have welcomed this sudden shift for a change and are enjoying fully, but with a precaution," said an elderly couple fully wrapped in woolens loitering in Kachhi Chawni.
The most excited genre was that of females who, though always are seen fashionably made up for all seasons, suddenly have found a reason to rejoice in the pricking chill and looked more colorful and jovial.
A seemingly buoyed Divya chuckled, "Such twists in the weather make a reason for us to celebrate it through a plate of samosas or a dosa at a roadside which always remain as a memory to cherish".
Though the break-up in the weather structure brought in variegated reason for debates and celebrations from different quarters, the only muck attached to it was mud and slime getting glued on roads and lanes left due to the digging for sewerage plan.
