| Khalsa Club to face JKCC in Challenger Cup final | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 7: Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC) shall take on Junior Khalsa Cricket Club (JKCC) in the final of Challenger Cup Cricket Tournament being played at Baba Julla Cricket Club at Gole Gujral, near here. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, KCC trounced Ravi Cricket Club (RCC) by a margin of six runs. Batting first, KCC set a target of 146 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Chinku was top scorer with 40 runs while Pitty remained unbeaten at 20. From RCC, Ravi took three wickets. Batting second, RCC bowled out for 139 runs. Aman and Nitin contributed 42 and 23 runs respectively. Gagan (senior), who clinched five wickets, made hat trick. He was later adjudged man of the match. In the second semi-final of the day, Junior Khalsa Cricket Club (JKCC) outplayed Saini Cricket Club (SCC) by 26 runs. Batting first, JKCC lost all their wickets for 124 runs with Panther and Gurjinder being the top scorers contributing 26 and 14 runs respectively. Rinka was most successful bowler from SCC with three wickets. In reply, SCC bundled out for 98 runs. Dheeraj remained highest scorer with 24 runs. From JKCC, Gurpreet and Panther took four and three wickets respectively. Panther was declared man of the match for his superb bowling.
