| Shashwati celebrates 100th birth anniversary of Agyeya | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 7: The satire is a powerful medium to set the things right without using any unrealistic move towards life, said internationally acclaimed Hindi Writer Preem Janmejia while delivering a high profile lecture in Hindi here at Abhinav Theatre Complex on the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of famous Hindi poet of Indian sub continent Vatsyayan Agyeya. A galaxy of intellectuals, writers and artists of the state were present on the occasion. The programme was a part "Agyeya Memorial" series of lectures organized by Shashwati- an organization of Hindi Writers of Jammu and Kashmir. The Agyaya Memorial Lecture was held on the topic "Role of Satire in Changing Social Scenario". HoD Hindi, Department of University of Jammu, Prof OP Gupta presided over the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Convenor Shashwati, Ramesh Mehta said the objective of the programme was to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Agyeya and to listen scholarly views of Preem Janmejia, who has been a living legend of our country. In his address, Prof Om Parkash Gupta appreciated the Shashwati for organizing a purposeful event.
