| RGCE celebrates Women’s Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Mar 7: Rajiv Gandhi College of Education (RGCE) organised a programme to celebrate the 100th International Women’s Day here today. A large number of students, who took part in the programme, in their speeches highlighted the role of women in India as well as across the world. They said that the women are the main pillar of any society adding that it was the fair sex, who invented the vegetation farming. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman SC Advisory Board Swaran Lata appreciate the students who focused on the importance of the women and their actual role in the society through cultural items including songs. She said that nowadays women have become more aware than expectation regarding their rights and importance, most of the female are going to schools, colleges and achieving highest positions in every sphere of but inspite of all these achievement the women are still struggling for attaining the status of equality and justice On the occasion some successful women were felicitated. They include government school teacher Sushama Avtar, government lecturer Vijay Thakur, District Information Officer Miridul Salathia, government teacher Seema Sharma and Dr Nitisha Baghat for their contribution in their respective fields Among others who were present on the occasion included Chairperson of College Anu Dogra, Director of College Pankaj Dogra, Sohan Lal, Sardar Khan, Prof Sawroop, Ashok Gupta, Principal of the College Dr GP Sachdeva and Monika Sharma.
