| JRWA challenges credibility of Corporator Ward 37 | | |

JAMMU, Mar 7: Alleging that Corporator of Ward No 37 has a poor performance record, the Janipur Residents Welfare Association (JRWA) challenged his credibility and questioned Mayor Kavinder Gupta's announcement to declare him as best Corporator. Addressing media persons here today, President JRWA, Anil Kohli questioned former Mayor that upon which yard stick Ravinder Gupta has been announced best Corporator? He informed that pathetic conditions of water supply, electricity and drainage and sewerage are exemplary failure of corporator in fulfilling his duties for the last five years. Proprietorship rights of allotted plots and quarters as well as dispensary is in shambles for the last four years, turning of parks into garbage dumping sites were some of the main problems which had not been addressed by the corporator but still he was announced as best Corporator, Kohli added. Launching a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its Corporator, president JRWA said that even MLA Jammu West of same party has not even expensed a single penny on developmental works in the constituency especially in ward No 37. He said it is now apparent that being blue eyed boy of mayor and BJP, Ravinder has been named as best Corporator which amounts to breach of trust of the people in a democratic set up.
JRWA demanded that Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation should take cognizance of the matter and cancel the award thereof and hunt fresh candidate. Association hinted that there are several Corporators have done tremendous contribution in their respective wards.
