| NMC for special package to JK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 7: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed the Prime Minister to provide special package to the state along with other resources to fully meet the expenditure on account of 6th Pay Commission report in favour of the employees and pensioners. Addressing NMC workers' rally here today, NMC President, Subash Shastri pleaded that all sections of employees across the country should get full benefits of the sixth pay Commission report and for this purpose the centre and planning commission should find ways and means to provide special funds to the needy states. Shastri however expressed his concern that the 13th Finance Commission did not address this demand of J&K and other states which has disappointed the employees and the pensioners. Referring to the J&K Budget being presented by the Minister for Finance in the state legislature on March 12, Shastri hoped that it will meet the aspirations of the salaried class. Other demands highlighted by NMC president on the occasion included release of wages of motivators working in IWDP besides their regularization, declaration of Jammu and Srinagar Cities as B-1 Cities, issuance of orders of 180 Daily Wagers working in Rural Development Department and conversion of COLA into DA of PSU employees. Among those who also addressed the rally include Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Kasturi Lal, Chaman Lal Bhagat and Sukh Dev Singh.
