| Ultras slit throats of woman, son in Mahore | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 7: Militants today killed a woman and her seven-year-old son by slitting their throats in Dubri Upper Forests of Mahore in Reasi where they had gone to collect firewood. Sheelo Devi (28) went to the Dubri Upper forests along with her son Rinku (7) to collect firewood in the afternoon. Official sources said while they were collecting firewood, militants appeared on the scene and caught hold of them. The ultras first subjected them to inhuman torture and then killed both of them by slitting their throats, the sources added, saying they later fled the spot. The bodies were found lying in a pool of blood by some other villagers who too had gone to the forests to collect firewood. These villagers then contacted police. After the matter came to the notice of senior police officers at about 4 pm, they despatched cops from Mahore police station and a FSL team to the spot. Reaching there, the cops and the FSL team examined the spot and then evacuated the bodies to the Mahore hospital.Villagers also held a demonstration in the area in protest against the killings.Sources said Sheelo was living separately from her husband Kuldeep Singh of Channa, Mahore, for the past two years as the duo had developed some differences.She was at present living with her father Kamal Singh at Simbli Thilloo, the sources added.
