| Civilian gunned down in Bemina | | | SRINAGAR: Unidentified gunmen tonight shot dead a 36-year-old civilian in Bemina outskirts of the capital city. Informed sources told Early Times that unidentified gunmen, believed to be two in number, appeared at the residence of Aijaz Ahmed Dada at Hamza Colony, in Bemina area, and fired upon him with at least one AK-47 at 2100 hours tonight. They left him critically wounded and escaped.
Sources said that the family members and their neighbours rushed Dada to SMHS Hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Officials claimed that Dada was not neither an informant of Police or security forces nor associated with any political organization. Originally hailing from Safakadal area, he had been living in Bemina since 2007.
Officials said that the assailants had not been identified but there were indications of their being local cadres of Lashkar-e-Toiba.
