| DDC Kathua reviews Navratra festival arrangements | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Mar 8: In order to review the arrangements being made by the district Administration at various holy shrines in the district for upcoming Navratra festival commencing from March 16, a meeting was held here at Kathua today. District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Sanjeev Verma presided over the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, M Raju, Assistant Commissioner (revenue) Dr. Vikas Gupta, Tehsildar HQ, Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD, PHE, officers from Medical, Fire services, Police and other departments attended the meeting. The DDC reviewed all the necessary arrangements to facilitate the smooth yatra at different Goddess shrines of the district viz transportation, sanitation, adequate drinking water, un-interrupted power supply , first aid facilities, quality of eatables and rates besides security arrangements in the present scenario were discussed in detail. Kathua district is bestowed with famous shrines of Mata Bala Sundri at Sundrikote, Mata Sukarala in Tehsil Billawar, Jasrota Mata, Mata Asha purni at Kathua, Jourian Wali Mata, Dhoula Wali Mata at Bani, Bala Sundri at Nagri and many others. The DDC directed to ply additional buses for the pilgrims. He also directed the traffic department to take effective steps to avoid over-loading, over-hanging and over-charging in the vehicles. The police department was asked to make adequate security arrangements at all the shrines. Medical department was directed to make available necessary Medical Facilities with life saving drugs, IST aid along with team of doctors both male and female and para medical staff at the shrines. The PHE department was directed to ensure potable drinking water at the shrines. The PDD department was directed to ensure un-interrupted power supply at all the shrines.
