| Dalit Sena alleges delay in survey | | Kahara-Jai road in Bhaderwah | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 8: Dalit Sena Jammu & Kashmir State has appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and R&B Minister GM Saroori to intervene personally in the survey of Kahara-Jai road beyond Halaran in tehsil Bhaderwah of Doda district. According to a press hand out issued here today, State President Anil Kumar Bhagat said that the work on Kahara-Jai road is almost complete up to Halaran. He alleged that survey from Halaran to Jai is not getting finalized because of the interference from the vested interests. Bhagat demanded that from Halaran the road should directly go onwards to Jai via lower end of village Budhi sparing the water source which will involve least damage to forest and to the cultivable land and then via Joura Kalan, lower Shamdlian and Ghuroo to Jai. This survey and alignment is equidistance from all habitations and will cause least damage to forests, he said Dalit Sena leader however argued if a link road from Halaran up to Higher Secondary School Jamala is given; it will be a better option because that way it can further connect Sichal and Goela, villages dominated by scheduled caste community. He appealed that Executive Engineer concerned of R&B Department be directed to make the appropriate survey accordingly and to start the construction of the remaining part of the first phase of Kahara-Jai road from Halaran to Joura.
