| JKMF flays centre, state for education policies | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 8: Jammu & Kashmir Milchar Front today crticised the present education policies of both central & the state governments, including the issuance of new SRO-308, of the state government. The front appealed to the Chief Minister Mr Omar Abdullah for retaining the education portfolio with himself and appoint a panel of experts to assist him in the best interests of the state and the coming innocent generations as well. They alleged that innocent student community are worst sufferers due to the unavailability of teaching staff of newly upgraded higher secondary schools particularly in the hilly districts like Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar & Poonch. Similarly B.Ed. or M.Ed. degree is presently declared as mandatory for school teachers but no body is worried about the sanctity of such degree courses being managed by the unlimited private B.Ed. colleges or defunct distance education departments of the Universities in view of almost total degradations, they Front alleged. The Front members, meanwhile, appealed both central and state governments to review such ineffective and wrong procedures as it is all being done at the cost of nation's money
