| Speaker directs for checking encroachments | | |

JAMMU, Mar 8: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone today convened a meeting of officers of Revenue Department, Jammu Development Authority(JDA) and Housing Board regarding the problems faced by the residents of Channi Rama Colonies and discussed threadbare various issues, including encroachments on the State land in the area.
Lone directed the concerned authorities to work in coordination and prepare a detailed report with regard to the demarcation of land of each agency.
He asked each agency to identify the land under its jurisdiction and separate the same with boundary walls. He directed the departments to formulated the reports and submit it to the Government for appropriate action. He directed the Revenue Authorities to provide revenue staff to the Housing Board for demarcation of the land of the Board. . He also asked the JDA to hire Patwaris so that the demarcation of the land would be completed as soon as possible.
The Speaker also asked the concerned departments to identify the encroachments and take steps for the eviction of the same.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Suresh Kumar, Secretary Revenue, Aijaz Iqbal, Vice Chairman, JDA, Gulzar Qureshi, Managing Director, Housing Board and other senior officers of the concerned departments attended the meeting.
