| Rising prices- UPA's gift to people: Chaman | | |

JAMMU, Mar 9: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) egislature Party leader and Jammu West MLA Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has said that price rise is a 'gift' of Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) to the people. This was stated by senior BJP leader, while addressing party activists at the venue of signature campaign organized against inflated prices in Kachi Chawni area of his constituency. Prof Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that the present Congress-led UPA at the centre has utterly failed to contain the prices of essential commodities and a common man is on the verge of starvation as he is not in a position to purchase even the essential commodities. He said the Congress which won the last elections on the slogan of "Congress Ka Haath, Gareeb Ke Saath" has virtually turned into "Congress Ka Haath, Gareeb Ke Saath Vishwasghaat" adding that only thing which the Congress has 'gifted' to the people is manifold increase in the prices of essential items. Prof. Gupta said that even the prices of items including wheat, rice, sugar, flour and oils have sky rocketed due to which all these commodities are out of bounds for a common man and if the same trend continues, the day is not far when it will be difficult rather impossible for the survival of a middle class Indian, leave aside the fate of a poor person. BJP leader said that the party has launched nation-wide signature campaign to educate the people about the anti-poor policies of central government.
