| Infiltration bid by four ultras foiled on IB | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, March 09: Amid heightened terror threats across the country, an infiltration bid by four Pakistani militants was foiled late Monday night by a patrol of 59 Bn of BSF on the International Border (IB) in Ramgarh sub-sector, about 35 km from here. Four armed Pakistani militants appeared on the IB ahead of Malluchak border outpost in Ramgarh sub-sector at about 11 pm on Monday. While two stayed on the IB, the other two marched into the Indian territory, BSF sources said. A patrol of 59 Bn of BSF picked up their movement. Sources said as the two intruders continued marching towards the fencing stealthily, it prompted the patrol party to challenge them. When challenged, they opened fire, which was returned. Sources said after a brief exchange of fire, the intruders managed to flee back to Pakistan unhurt under the cover of darkness and thick sarkanda (grass). It seemed as if they had come close to the fencing area to infiltrate into the Indian territory, but their attempt was foiled by the alert BSF personnel, the sources added. Sources said search of the area was carried out Tuesday morning under the supervision of senior BSF officers, but nothing was found. A round-the-clock vigil was being maintained all along the border to foil any infiltration bid by the Pak-based militants, the sources added.
